Waterkant is a café-restaurant and dancing located on the Marnixstraat in the centre of Amsterdam. Waterkant is situated somewhat hidden opposite the water of the Singel under a large parking garage. Waterkant has a large outdoors terrace with a view on the Singel canal, which makes it a popular hotspot on sunny summer days.
The Waterkant café-restaurant is defined by its Surinam-caribbean cuisine and dito inspired dance parties. The kitchen of Surinam is a hodgepodge of influences from pretty much all of the continents of the world. Waterkant is named after the boulevard next to the Suriname river in Parimaribo, the capital of Surinam.
